Who we are
This website is operated by Strion Inc., a California corporation ("Strion," "we," "us"). Our address is 490 Post Street, Suite 500, San Francisco, CA 94102, United States. For anything about privacy, write to administration@strion-inc.com.
For the personal information collected through this website, Strion is the controller, which means we decide why and how it is used.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the personal information we collect when you visit this website and when you contact us through it or by email.
It does not cover the services we provide to clients. When you or your company becomes a client, the agreement and the Client Privacy Notice that comes with it explain how we handle the information of that relationship, and for that information they prevail over this policy.
When we handle personal information on behalf of a client, for example measurement data from the client's own website, we act on the client's instructions under our agreement, and the client's privacy notice explains that processing to the people it concerns.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form, we receive the details you enter. That means your name, work email, company and role, the topic you choose, your answers to the questions for that topic, your message, and any optional details you add, such as your company website or how you heard about us. When you write to us by email, we receive your message and the contact details in it.
Information collected automatically. When your browser loads a page, our hosting provider receives the technical data that any website receives, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the page that linked to it, and the date and time of the request. The contact form also records the page you sent it from.
You don't have to give us any information to read the site.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use cookies or similar technologies for analytics or advertising. It does not load tracking pixels or third-party scripts, and its fonts and images load from this site's own domain.
If the site remembers a display choice you make, such as pausing motion, that choice is stored in your browser and is not sent to us.
How we use it
We use personal information for these purposes only.
- To read and answer your message and follow up on your request.
- To prepare and manage a business relationship with you or your company, when you ask us to.
- To handle verification and compliance requests about Strion.
- To deliver the site, keep it and the contact form secure, stop spam and abuse, and fix problems.
- To understand which topics and pages lead people to contact us, using the details the contact form records.
- To comply with legal obligations, and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Sending a message does not sign you up to a newsletter or a mailing list. We do not make decisions about you based only on automated processing.
Legal bases under the GDPR
Where the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, we rely on these legal bases.
- A contract, or steps toward one that you ask for, when your message is about working with us.
- Our legitimate interests in answering business inquiries, handling verification requests, running a secure website and understanding how people reach us. We have weighed these interests against your rights, and you can object at any time, as explained under Your rights and choices.
- Legal obligations, when the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
- Our legitimate interest in legal claims, to establish, exercise or defend them.
The required fields in the contact form are the ones we need to reply to you, so without them we cannot answer. The other fields are optional.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above, and only with these recipients.
- Companies that provide services to us under contract, such as hosting, email, IT support, accounting and administrative support. They may use it only to provide those services to us.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers, auditors and accountants, who are bound by confidentiality.
- Authorities, courts and other public bodies, when the law requires it or to protect our rights.
- A buyer or successor, if Strion is part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with the same protections for your information.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
International transfers
Strion is based in the United States. We process personal information there and in the other countries where our service providers operate, which may not offer the same level of protection as the country where you are.
When the law of your country requires safeguards for these transfers, we use appropriate mechanisms, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the competent authorities. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards that apply.
How long we keep it
We keep the messages you send us, and our replies, for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any follow-up. If your message leads to an agreement, it becomes part of the records of that relationship, which the Client Privacy Notice covers.
Technical logs are kept only as long as needed to run and protect the site. We keep information longer only when the law requires it or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. After that, we delete it or anonymize it.
How we protect it
We protect personal information with appropriate technical and organizational measures, and this site is served only over encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, and we improve these measures when we find a risk.
Your rights and choices
Wherever you are, you can ask us to
- tell you whether we hold personal information about you, and give you a copy of it;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete information we no longer need or have no right to keep;
- stop using your information for a purpose you object to.
If the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, you also have the right to restrict how we use your information, to receive the information you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format, to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority where you live or work.
To make a request, write to administration@strion-inc.com. We may ask for details to confirm your identity before we act, and we answer within the time the applicable law sets. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Tracking across other sites
This site does not follow visitors over time or across other websites, and it does not let other companies do so. Because there is no tracking of that kind to switch off, the site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal or another opt-out preference signal.
Children
This site is meant for business audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we publish the new version on this page with a new effective date at the top. When a change is material, we also say at the top of the page what changed.
How to reach us
